Turning 65 this month and spending the last 9 in some version of quarantine, I’ve been reflecting on my life. The magical and the messy.
During this reflective time I decided to share with you my five top lessons learned, in no particular order.
Discipline
It’s one of the things the “Sisters” taught me. Always have a Plan and a Plan B.
Perseverance
Yup, the “Sisters”, again.
Appreciation
Appreciation for everything and everyone around me.
Appreciate of nature, especially my back patio and gorgeous backyard.
Appreciation of gnocchi in brown butter sauce.
Appreciation of my team.
I hire smart, hardworking peeps and get out of their way.
Appreciation of John, my husband, who gives great business advice and counsel.
Forgiveness
Forgiveness for the betrayal of false friends.
Forgiveness to those who have wronged me.
No feelings of hate or betrayal.
Everyone needs to go on and live a happy life
with or without me.
Kindness
Whenever, wherever I can, I strive to be a cheerleader for my peeps.
I want to encourage and help whomever is looking for business advice,
advantageous introductions or just a word of encouragement.
In brief: There will be no special place in hell for me.
What?
You thought you’d get through a brief without my favorite Madeleine Albright quote?
“There is a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women.”
(Stay tuned. I am manifesting a lunch with her as soon as I am allowed out to play!)
Oh, and Happy Birthday to Me.
