There is something about the Mae West quote above that reminds me of the women I work with. We all have our particular ‘glitter’ that we exude and our individual ‘gleam’ which mixes together on and off the clock. For the most part it creates a smooth running operation that provides the white glove concierge service with front porch ease that JBH&A is known for.
I’m no expert on personality traits, (I did take a test the other day and the results said I am “courageous, but daring”. See below for more details, as if we didn’t already know) however, with some big changes happening at JBH&A I started thinking about it. There are five traits and I took a guess of how some of the Associates would fit in:
Openness
Conscientiousness
Extroversion
Agreeableness
Neuroticism
The woman I consider having the qualities of Conscientiousness, the JBH&A Office Manager, Barbara Curtis, is getting ready to leave us. Barbara has always approached her work with high levels of thoughtfulness, good impulse control, and goal-directed behaviors. She is organized and mindful of details, aims for achievement and prefers planned rather than spontaneous behavior. It is with great respect and bittersweet emotions I have accepted her decision to retire.
Needless to say, we will all miss her. I wish her the best as she transitions from a working to a retired woman. Her future plans include spending as much time as possible around her children and grandchildren.
It is with great joy that I announce JBH&A will have two Associates starting this summer.
Tia Diggs falls in the classification of Extraversion. She is social, outgoing and emotionally expressive. Perfect for her new role on the team of administrators focused on the needs of the Forum of Executive Women and Kids Chance of Pennsylvania. Tia previously worked for a friendly competitor for seven years and when it was time to move her career forward she came to JBH&A. Welcome Tia!
Loren Armenti is stepping to the role of our administrator for The Wharton Alumni Angels. I can’t help but think she marvelously meets all the requirements of Agreeableness, since she is kind, trusting and altruistic. Perfect for working with Alumni Angels. Loren and I met at the Union League in the early 1990’s and have always felt a connection of mutual respect.

I appreciate the JBH Associates for their commitment and authenticity. With a range of personalities I can honestly say that we all strive to be genuine and fair. Mae said, “You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.” and I agree.
Congratulations Barbara Curtis! Thank you for your over twenty years of exceptional work with JBH&A and all the best in your future adventures.
Welcome Loren and Tia.
Have a Magical Day,
